About Wilder

Wilder sits on a bluff above the Snake River in the middle of a large irrigated farmland that fills the western end of the Snake River Basin. Fields of corn, alfalfa, onions and other crops surround the town for many miles. Looking westward beyond the Snake River, a ridge of hills covered in grass can be seen, which lie on the other side of the Oregon border. The Boise River also passes by a couple miles to the north.

Wilder is home to 1,462 people as of the 2000 census. U.S. Highway 95 passes through headed north and south on the main street, which is called Fifth Street. It leads northward to Parma, and southward to Homedale. Idaho Highway 19 begins at Wilder and head eastward towards Caldwell. The elevation is 2,428 feet.
