The First Well

This well was here, by hand it was tapped
in this part of our vale.
We pray it will never be capped
for it helps keep Rupert Hale.
We followers of the pioneers
whose foresight ne'er grew stale
Herewith commemorate those seer's vision,
Far past the pail.
