Chilly Slough Wetland
Home for 157 species of wildlife, more different kinds of wildlife
use Chilly Slough than any other site in Central Idaho.
This 3000 acre natural spring-fed wetland of private, state and
federal lands extends more than six miles up the Thousand
Springs Valley to the distant hills on your right. A partnership
of private organizations and public agencies have been working
with private landowners to acquire parts of the wetland to
enhance wildlife habitat and provide recreation opportunities.
The public and state lands are open to canoeing, wildlife
viewing, hunting and fishing in season, and nature photography.
Contact the Idaho Department of Fish and Game in Idaho Falls,
or the Salmon District BLM Office for more information.
